I live where you vacation.

Hundreds of tourists visit Miami daily; there is so much to do and know. Miami is the house of Americans and people from the Caribe, South Americans, and anyone who wants to enjoy a city by the Atlantic coast with family and friends. (This article is also for you, resident of this city)

It has been more than a year since I moved here. I loved this city the moment my eyes first saw the ocean and yachts at Miami City Hall at Coconut Grove after taking the metro and then a trolley twenty-five minutes away from home: Brickell, the Financial District, and Coral Gables with its architecture. What’s more, to sunbathe, you can go to South Beach or Matheson Park, where you have a view of the buildings of the city of Miami and Key Biscayne. Regardless of what you might have heard, there is not only nightlife. Vacations are made to enjoy and achieve every minute as healing the body and mind of this full-time job living represents.

I loved Miami even more after hearing the saying of Robert Orben: “A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in” So, your day off becomes your vacation day, do the laundry before going to sleep and you have no excuses to enjoy the next day.

You may ask: Otera, how do I get to these places?

Well, you can rent a car or take the bus, Metrorail, Metromover, Trolley, Freebee, or GoConnect; ride a Citibike, electric scooter, electric scooter; take an Uber, Lyft; or just walk. There are no excuses to vacation.

Drive less. Live more

For USD 2.25, you can ride the Miami transportation system “Drive less. Live more, “including Metrorail, Metromover, the Trolleys, and GoConnect. You can download the app available for Android and IOs to see their schedule, routes, and connections. You can go to their websites as well.

Bikes and electric vehicles

Miami is currently adopting ecological ways of commuting, and companies are providing vehicles as an economic and environmental solution to any who wants to bet for a smooth ride.

The Citibike program is a bike-sharing and rental system operated by DECOBIKE LLC. Providing locals and visitors solar-powered locations where people can fleet a bike just by following three steps: Unlock, ride, and return. This program has 165+ stations available 24/7; you can download the app and decide on membership or hourly rental. My favorite stations are the one in Coconut Grove and the one close to Lincoln Road at South Beach.

Electric bikes or scooters are standard in this city; people own or rent one. With plenty of options: Lime, Bird, Spin, and probably others I don’t know yet. These are cheap ways to get to places.

Let me know if you have used these ways of transportation in the comments!
